SOMA API · REST

Your aviation data, connected to every system you run

The SOMA API gives operators, MROs and their IT teams secure, programmatic access to fleet, flight and maintenance data — so SOMA works hand in hand with your ERP, BI dashboards and in-house applications.

Why the SOMA API

Stop re-typing data. Start running one connected operation.

SOMA already holds your single source of truth for airworthiness. The API lets that truth flow to the rest of your business — automatically, accurately and in real time.

Eliminate double entry

Sync flight hours, cycles and work orders between SOMA and your other systems automatically, cutting manual errors and admin time.

Connect your ERP and finance

Share purchasing, inventory and maintenance cost data with your ERP and accounting tools so finance and engineering work from the same numbers.

Power your BI dashboards

Feed Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau or your data warehouse with live fleet and maintenance data for the reports leadership actually asks for.

Bulk loads and migrations

Onboard new aircraft or import historical records at scale instead of entering them one by one — ideal for fleet growth and system transitions.

Build your own apps

Create internal portals, line-station tools or customer-facing views on top of SOMA data, without waiting on a product roadmap.

Ready for automation and AI

Trigger workflows in your automation platform and give AI tools structured, reliable aviation data to work with.

What you can access

The same data behind every SOMA module

The API exposes the records your teams already manage in SOMA, with the same rules and permissions that keep them accurate.

How it works

From first call to live integration

01

Tell us what you want to connect

Share the systems and data flows you have in mind. Our team scopes the integration with you and confirms what the API covers.

02

Get access and documentation

Receive your organization’s credentials and full access to the interactive API reference, with request and response examples.

03

Build, test and go live

Your developers build at their own pace — or let SOMA’s engineering team build it for you through our custom development service.

For developers

Built for developers. Backed by aviation engineers.

Clear, documented endpoints your team can start with in minutes, plus a support team that understands both the code and the airworthiness rules behind the data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can use the SOMA API?
arrow

The API is available to organizations with an active SOMA subscription that add API access to their plan. Access is granted per organization, so every integration only sees your own data.

Does API access have an additional cost?
arrow

Yes. API access is an additional subscription to your SOMA plan. Contact our team and we will prepare a proposal based on your integration needs.

What type of API is it?
arrow

It is a REST API served over HTTPS that exchanges data in JSON, so it works with virtually any programming language, ERP, BI tool or automation platform.

Is there documentation available?
arrow

Yes. Once your organization is granted access, your team receives an interactive Swagger reference that lists every available endpoint with its parameters and example responses, so developers can explore and test calls directly from the browser.

Can I write data into SOMA, or only read it?
arrow

Both. You can retrieve records and also create or update them — for example, loading flight hours from another system.

How is my data protected?
arrow

Authentication is based on JWT (JSON Web Tokens). Your integration logs in with your organization’s credentials, receives a token and sends it with every request. All traffic travels encrypted over HTTPS, and each integration only accesses the data of its own organization.

We don’t have developers. Can SOMA build the integration?
arrow

Yes. Through our Custom Aerospace Development service, SOMA’s engineers can design and build the integration with your ERP, BI or internal tools for you.

Are there usage limits?
arrow

Yes. The standard API subscription includes up to 30,000 requests per month and 1,000 requests per day (a request is any GET, POST, PUT, PATCH or DELETE call). If your integration needs higher volumes, our team will quote an expansion for you.
